Over this 5 week class you will learn the gentile arts of tea drinking, cake eating and watercolour painting. From stitching your own sketchbook to learning the tricks and tips of the watercolour artist, this is all you need to get started.
This workshop is an entire day dedicated to festivities and the mindful art of watercolours. Surrounded by traditional decorations and winter foliage, we will cover the basics of watercolour and composition. Finishing up with the option of making a stunning concertina card, or a small set of cards for display or gift to a lucky loved one.
-NOT YET OPEN FOR BOOKINGS- This workshop is a day dedicated to the beautiful art of painting flowers. We will cover the basics of botanical illustration, watercolours and observational drawing in a room full of blooms. After lunch, you will put your newly learned skills to use and create a watercolour “standing” card or artist’s book of your choosing. At the end of the day you will have your own piece of artwork to take home and know all you need to get started in the world of watercolour.
This course is designed to build your confidence as you take your first steps into watercolour painting. With the regular practice that comes with this weekly class, you'll come away with a knowledge of colour theory, an understanding of composition, and five beautiful pieces of artwork to show for it. Start a sketching habit by making your own sketchbook and learning methods and mediums to fill it. This five week course aims to give you confidence to sketch freely, a great introduction for budding artists.
