These two hour workshops are all inclusive experience of tea, cake and illustration, Chose your refreshments and learn different ways to paint and sketch them, nibbling as you go. This class is suitable for all levels of experience, with basic tutoring for beginners or more advanced techniques if desired. Subjects covered: Watercolour “wash” painting, observational drawing, and approaching a still life set up. It is fundamentally an opportunity to enjoy the delicious cake and spend two hours doing something creative! However feel free to bring with you your favourite mug to illustrate!
This workshop will be an entire day dedicated to the mindful art of painting flowers. Learn how to compose an illustration, basic watercolour techniques and how to observe the beautiful colours of spring. You will go home with a knowledge of colour theory and a handmade card or timeless botanical painting.
This workshop is a day dedicated to the beautiful art of painting flowers. We will cover the basics of botanical illustration, watercolours and observational drawing in a room full of summer blooms. Then, after lunch, you will put your newly learned skills to use and create a watercolour “standing” card or artist’s book of your choosing. At the end of the day you will have your own piece of artwork to take home and know all you need to get started in the world of watercolour.

From shop fronts, cafe-goers, monuments and landscapes, to receipts, postcards and your cup of tea, urban environments are a gold mine to the sketchbooker. This is your chance to have a go and learn the tricks and tips of the wandering artist.
Learn to Illustrate letters and envelopes alongside your grandparents or family members. Make keeping in touch beautiful I keep in touch with my grandmother using decorated letters and envelopes. Learn to do the same with your parent, grandparent, family member or friend. The workshop will include: Ideas of what to draw on envelopes (dragons, tractors, faries, etc) How to make decorate your envelope and where to place them Ways you can fold unusual envelopes Things you can put in your letters (sheets of stickers/ unusual stamps, chocolate coins, a photograph, a "token" for something e.g. a hug)
Embrace the autumn colours whilst learning the basics of watercolour illustration. This workshop is a chance to appreciate the changing of the seasons in an entirely new way, covering an introduction to watercolour painting and composition. You will take home a beautiful concertina card for display or gift to a lucky loved one, and the confidence to get started!
