Start a sketching habit by making your own sketchbook and learning methods and mediums to fill it. This five week course aims to give you confidence to sketch freely, a great introduction for budding artists.
This workshop is a day dedicated to the beautiful art of painting flowers. We will cover the basics of botanical illustration, watercolours and observational drawing in a room full of blooms. After lunch, you will put your newly learned skills to use and create a watercolour “standing” card or artist’s book of your choosing. At the end of the day you will have your own piece of artwork to take home and know all you need to get started in the world of watercolour.
This workshop is an entire day dedicated to festivities and the mindful art of watercolours. Surrounded by traditional decorations and winter foliage, we will cover the basics of watercolours and composition. Finishing up with the option of making a stunning concertina card, or a small set of cards for display or gift to a lucky loved one.
In this workshop we will cover the basics of painting botanicals in watercolours and transferring this skill to decorating letters. In the afternoon you will have the chance to try out origami letter folds or make a set of Christmas cards; skills that are perfect to kick start your own festive, letter-writing hobby.
This workshop is a chance to appreciate the new season’s blooms in an entirely new way. We will cover the basics of watercolour and observational drawing in a room filled with flowers. Finishing up by making a stunning concertina card, for display or gift to a lucky loved one.
17th April 10am – 4pm, £75. Pegasus Art, Stroud This workshop is an intensive tutorial designed to teach you all you need to learn portraiture. From quick people sketching to traditional poses drawn from life, noses, hands and all. Be you a beginner in search of direction, or an old hand looking for a refresher, you will come away having learned something.
This two part workshop is all you need to get started on your sketch-booking journey. Day 1: Book binding- Make your own sketchbook Jump the first hurdle of overcoming that blank page by making a sketchbook yourself. This workshop will cover leather book making and coptic book binding using recycled books and salvaged leather to create your own watercolour sketchbooks. Day 2: The art of the Sketchbook Get stuck in to filling your beautiful sketchbook by learning the tips and tricks of an everyday sketcher. From travel journaling to people sketching and watercolours, you will have the chance to try out a multitude of techniques and explore a use of sketchbook that works for you.
This course is designed to build your confidence as you take your first steps into watercolour painting. With the regular practice that comes with this weekly class, you'll come away with a knowledge of colour theory, an understanding of composition, and five beautiful pieces of artwork to show for it.
