May at the Cafe: Sketchbook Catch-up
Afternoon Workshop
About this class
Our much awaited cafe/deli is open! And I have long planned for this to be an arty space. So this session is a little different. It's an on-location sketchbook catch-up: drawing scenes of the cafe, cakes, and flakey pastries in watercolour. This will mean a focus on mixing different browns without making them muddy. A cup of artisanal coffee or bottomless tea, and a cake is included in this session. You can also upgrade this to a glass of wine and some cheese if desired! If you've previously attended one of my classes, and have been dabbling a little, or perhaps haven't lifted a brush since, then this is your opportunity for a refresher (or just a natter over cake and a mug of tea). This class is also suitable as a taster session for beginners at watercolours. The session, from 2pm-4pm, includes a sketchbook prompt focusing on painting food and a record of meals made and shared. It's up to you if you'd like to take part in this task, or bring in your own projects to work on with guidance during the session. Note that the cafe will be open and there may be interested customers who ask questions about what we're doing! This session is limited to 6 students as a result. P's and B's will be available (Paper, Paints, Pencils, Pens, & Brushes) but you may wish to bring in your own sketchbook and art supplies. What's included: - Tea, Coffee and Cake (please get in touch with dietary requirements) - Fresh ingredients to paint! - Simple materials (see above) - Tips & tutorage Please get in touch with any questions via contact@valerian.co.uk or 07584436655.
